Luke 4: 16-18.
1) Unearth everything written about you
Jesus found a place written about Him. There are many things written about you, but it’s your responsibility to unearth them. You cannot find it without searching. Many believers are cold to find out what God has written concerning them—about their health, purpose, career, etc.
Do you know what God has written concerning you? Do you know there is a scripture that says, “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is lifting up;”? This is what is written concerning you;
- Though your beginning is small, your latter end will increase.
- My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
There is light coming from you. Your tongue is a pen. You are rewriting purposes in people’s destinies.
- It says gentiles shall come to my light and kings to the brightness of my rising.
Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
I am a blessing, not as a preacher but as a believer. If I drop ministry today, I will still be a blessing. These are the things written concerning you. But have you made the time to find out. The Bible says, “With long life shall I satisfy you and show you my salvation.” Oh! Let the spirit of death hear this scripture again. With long life shall I satisfy Apostle Joshua Selman and show him my salvation. You need to be aware of such a scripture in this wicked world generation.
“I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.” The Bible says the increase of the earth is for all.
There is a portion for all men in the earth. Even the king is fed by that which comes from the field. You don’t have to be there to access your portion. Light can draw it to you wherever you are. It is in the consistent study of the scripture that kings will entreat your favor.
2) Rise in this scriptural awareness
This is what is written. God can restore Years. No man can restore time but God alone. Time only goes forward, but the one who created time has a way of working things out, that he can take events that should have happened and bring them to your future.
You are called to a life of influence. Don’t just attract great people, but make great people out of you: Make Kings come out of you.
You might say, “Oh! Apostle, you don’t know my situation. I come from a family where we were all cursed.”
You are not the first person to be cursed. Rise in this scriptural awareness and reclaim your position in the circle of life. Reuben knew his father’s concubine carnally, and his father brought a curse upon him. He said, “You are the firstborn. You are the strength of my might but unstable as the wind. You will not succeed.” But a time came when the man was depleting, and Moses spoke a prophetic word and said, “Let Rueben live and let his people not be few.” You are not the first to go through family curses and foundational problems. Have you found the voice that can speak and restore life?
There is always a way out, and that way has been written, but until you search, you cannot find it. The Laziness of many believers as far as the consistent study of the scripture is concerned is unbecoming. Obtain grace, in the name of Jesus, to commit yourself to deep study of the scriptures.
3) Access light is through the power of corporate fellowship—the house of God.
Micah 4:2 “Many nations shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”
Miracles happen to believers when they gather in the house of God. The Bible says, “How good and pleasant it is when brethren dwell together in unity.” The teaching ministry happens in the house of God, and men can access light.
As big as the door can be, the key that opens it is handy and tiny. The swift entry is determined by that tiny key regardless of the size of the house. Doors don’t answer sentiments. Fortunately, physical house doors can be broken by strength. How about spiritual doors, which require keys only? What would you do?
The house of God is a mysterious place ordained by God where the saint can access light—distilled strategic light. In the house of God, the teaching priest has pieced together revelations and mysteries ready for consumption by ordinary believers; Christians will thus be spared the effort of modifying and scouring the Bible for solutions. This is where you should long to belong. In the house of God, you would be handed the keys to spiritual doors concerning your career, ministry, health, etc.
Every Christian should honor any man of God who labors in the word and doctrine. Most people do not understand the labor of a man of God in putting together a sermon. It is a feast of light already prepared for consumption.
Jeremiah 3:15 “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
Psalms 122:1 “A Song of Ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.”
The business of the house of God is a business of us. The Bible says, “Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.” There is understanding when you come into the house of God.
6) Access Light is through the Power of Mentorship.
Strategic distilled knowledge comes easily through the power of mentorship. Mentorship is a great privilege, especially for the mentee. In one day, you can receive the wisdom of a man who labored for ten years.
Ignorance is not a demon: you don’t solve it by casting out in prayers and fasting. If you are a leader, don’t be too quick to lay hands on mentees to impart knowledge. Lay hands on their capacity and not personality. The size of the vessel matters. Their spiritual vessels must be big enough to contain the anointing you want to impart.
Then Elijah said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
Borrow vessels through the written books: through church sermons. And also through strategic programs like conferences. Mentorship is very powerful. It gives you the privilege of distilling years without a pain factor.
7) Access Light is through Service.
Few people understand the power of service. Service is beyond being a choir member or being an usher in the church. First and foremost, in service, we become partakers of the grace. Service brings proximity. It brings you closer to being able to observe the working dynamics. Imagine you have the opportunity to serve in the house of a man who loves the Lord, and most likely, you will study his prayer life. You would have the opportunity to serve by observation.
If allowed to work as a secretary for an entrepreneur, don’t just transfer files from department to department, but observe the culture of excellence. Observe his discipline and diligence. Find a place to serve. The church is the only school where you don’t write exams to be admitted. Your only basis for admission is desire. The church gives allowance for everyone.
In a faculty of medicine, you don’t expect to see agriculturists. The church is a collection of people with vast knowledge across several fields inclined to share it freely. It is for this reason that the church ought not to be a place of ignorance. If we are serious in the house of God, the prize to greatness would subsidize.
I do not believe that believers should fail. They are before many opportunities. The bank manager is a member, and the billionaire and the prayer-man is a member. All you need is to develop a passion for learning.
8) Access Light is through the Ministry of the Holy Spirit.
John 16:12-13 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
The spirit of God can guide a man into all truth. The truth concerning ministry, finances, health, and influence. The Bible says, “And thou shall hear a voice from behind saying this is the way walk in it.”
1corinthians 2:12 “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”
Many believers don’t know that the solutions to their problems are so close to them. They do not know how to engage the Holy Spirit and access his wisdom. The call of God is upon your life. Do you have the light components? Stop giving excuses and say, “The economy is bad.” Your realities and possibilities are defined by the light that you have.
The Bible says God called the light day and the darkness he called night. That means, in the economy of God, day is neither afternoon nor morning. It can be noon, and yet you are still in the night. He called the light day.
God’s ideology about the day is not the shine of the sun but the presence of light. The presence of light, though at 8 pm, makes a day. You know whether you are in the day or the night, not by the chronological oscillation of time. The presence or absence of light defines whether you are in the day or the night. “Weeping endures for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” Thus, you do not have to wait till six in the morning to define your daytime.
Hunger for the light. Do not recycle your seasons of darkness. Let this note plant in you a holy dissatisfaction such that you hunger more. Light has great dominion. I have seen it in my life and ministry. And I have seen ordinary and naïve people excelling in light. The process of life starts when you engage with light. The reading actually starts when you engage with understanding.
What gives credence to prayer is not necessarily the voluminous expressions. There are two things required for potent prayer: it must be effectual, and it must be heartfelt. Great organizations have been built by light. The church is not seated on acres of land. But it is seated on the light. Everything depends on light. Your tomorrow depends on light. The primary assignment of the devil is not to put sickness in your body—that is a later assignment. The primary assignment of the devil is to hinder you from accessing light.
Access light by humility and meekness. You may be stocked in financial difficulties, but one person or book can hand you ancient keys competent enough to turn your finances around. Most believers think that it is just action that brings results. Action that is powered by understanding is what brings results. If you carry 1thousand Naira and just drop it in the basket, you will be surprised that for someone that is a seed, to another is a donation, and to another, he lost it. The difference between it being a financial loss, a donation, or a spiritual activity that translates to a harvest is not the basket, not the money either, but the understanding of the one who engages in it.
Pray that the day of ignorance will come to an end in your life. Walk in high-level spiritual illumination. Transformation is not a gift. No one is born transformed. You engage in transformation. It is not a gift but a reward: A reward for pressing and a reward for insisting.
Think for a minute about how ignorance has pegged your destiny, finances, and ministry. Is your life a correct representation of God? The good thing about destiny is that there is always room to change. Contest for light and rise by light. Pray for a light that distinguishes you in ministry, a light that helps you command dominion in every aspect of your life. Light is responsible for consistency in prayer; light is responsible for your spiritual work. Light is responsible for being a man of stature, character, and grace. Light that empowers you to walk in ever-increasing dimension.
