Start here: HOW TO SURRENDER ALL TO GOD (Part 1)
A) God weighs our motives.
In the days of King Belshazzar, King of Babylon, a finger appeared and wrote a strange writing on the palace wall that no one could read. Here is what Daniel interprets the writing to be,
“…You, King Belshazzar, you have been weighed on the scale and found wanting…” (Daniel 5:27)
So God weighs men, and if anyone is found wanting, God’s plans for him will not work. God has weighed your motive for a business breakthrough, extraordinary anointing, and great vision, and he has found you wanting.
There are obstacles in our lives that are not brought about by the devil. We have not yet attained that level of death to command the magnitude of blessing we crave. It doesn’t take God anything to arrange systems that bring forth millions and billions. The problem is that your heart has been found wanting.
This God of heaven has proven again and again that the cattle on a thousand hills belong to him. Do you know what it means to sit down with hundreds of billions in your account in cash and assets and still role on the ground for God?
Go and ask Solomon what happened to him. Solomon saw the manifestation of the presence of God twice. Everything he wanted, he had. But it got to a point where the Egyptian women turned his heart away from God, and he forgot the God of heaven. He had affluence and allowed his affluence to control his heart. Wealth became his assurance of tomorrow instead of God. He wrote the book of Ecclesiastes as a backsliding man.
Are you striving for mastery? The bible says,
“And if a man also strives for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully” (2Timothy 2:5)
We should ask God to purge our hearts, vet our tendencies, and remove anything that will stop that weight of glory from resting upon us. That is the prayer of a believer in this season. Sit down and say, “Lord, enough of child’s play.” You must cry and tremble before God and say, “Lord! I don’t even know my tendencies.”
Some people have been in the city for many decades. They are well-meaning Christians and don’t seem to have passed beyond certain doors. They strive extremely hard, yet barely survive and endure instead of living the life. Can I tell you what is wrong? There are certain things that God has seen in your heart that if a certain weight of Glory rests upon you and those things haven’t died yet, it will end up being a disadvantage. It is like giving a baby an AK47 and showing the baby how to shoot. The baby can turn the gun to himself and blow his head away.
C) Seeking a new spirit.
Psalms 51:10-12: “Create in me a clean spirit, O God, And renew a right and steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence And do not take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit”
This is only the first law. When you see God doing great things through men and women across the globe, please do not think it is just luck and impartation. God does not impart to people who have not made themselves ready. There is an altar with blood dripping on it—a token of “dead-to-self” that they have offered to God.
Are you willing to just keep playing nominal Christianity or ready to dive into this river of seriousness and mastery with God and say, “I know the thoughts you have for me? Thought of peace, and not of evil, to give me an expected end. I am ready to burn the bridges behind me. As for you, Lord, I am with you for the rest of my life.”
As for me, Apostle Joshua Selman (Also me, Brain Nfor, writing this book), there is no plan B. There is nowhere else to go. The bridges were long burnt and gone. I am with God, for God, and to God.
There are many Christians with plans B, E, and F. When they say, “God! I love you!” the other plans say, “What of us! We are here too!” Thus, they have divided attention and cannot fully please God, and therefore, cannot fully receive from God. You should burn down every plan B, C, and F bridge linked to your life. You must pronounce the sovereignty of Jesus over your life and make Him the sole plan so that you can enjoy this pilgrimage.
Jeremiah 17:9-10: “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve”
Businessman, you have not yet handled the wealth of the kingdom until you die to yourself. That is why God will pick out those we categorize as “Nobodies” and enthroned because of their lowly estate. They are not full of themselves; they are malleable. They know they don’t amount to much in themselves. So it is easy for them to surrender to God.
God will call such people and say, “I know you can’t speak English very well, but your yieldedness is what I am looking for. I can make do with your limitations in English. I will still make you an apostle and prophet.”
Many of us bring our qualifications to God and demand promotion and encounters. God knows what he is searching for in the heat of a man. He is looking for a vessel that is yielded, a vessel that is dead, and he will bring it to life—he would pour anointing and grace upon his head to be the judge amongst his people. It is a spectacular site to behold when you see a vessel that has been brought like a reed out of fire.
If you come to church to encounter the God of the Bible because you truly mean it with Jesus, and you know that the spirituality of your life is what controls everything about your life, then it is a good thing to have gone to church. But if you appear at church just to sign the register of presence or just to escort someone, then your life will suffer the devil’s predicament.
Most people see the miracles that God is doing in and through my life, Apostle Joshua Selma, and think it is just luck or an impartation. It is not all about anointing and impartation. Go behind the scene, and you will find a pool of blood still dripping upon the altar. It came from the covenant of sacrifice.
D) The covenant of sacrifice.
Psalms 50:5
“Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
I had the privilege to minister to those who were involved in occultism. I could not believe the sacrifice these men had to offer to move from one financial level to another. Some of them slept on graves, not in vision, physical graves. Imagine being laid on a grave in a lonely night!
Whether it is through demonic or genuine spirituality, sacrifice is a non-negotiable requirement.
A good number of Christians do not pray, fast, or read their Bibles, but they expect to grow. They distance themselves from God, and yet they try to stand their ground with a witch or a wizard. They even go ahead and render insults at incantations. You see a man who spends day and night interacting with devilish spirits physically and spiritually, and he says he will kill you, and you reply, “God forbid!” Run away! Because your stand with God is carnal, or else you will be surprised by the way you will take to die.
Our work in this Kingdom is based on the covenant. Your covenant is a voice; it can stand to amplify what you represent. Some spirits refuse to obey when you command them. They will say, “Jesus, I Know” and “Paul, I Know.” but who are you? They know what they see in Paul that makes them quiver at his voice.
E) Administration of the mastery.
Acts 19: 15: “One day the evil spirit answered them, ‘Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?’ ”
Many believers do not satisfy this law. They stomp over the charms of pagans and haul them to the push and say, “God forbid! Jesus has died: He won the victory.” And sooner, they start dying endlessly from generation to generation—suffering the curse of the charm.
Redemption is real, but the administration of mastery in this kingdom subscribes to the law of sacrifice, and not even Jesus evaded it. When Jesus hung on that cross, you thought the Father would see him in tears and say, “It is enough!”? The Father left him there to his death. Jesus cried out, “Eloi! Eloi! Lama Sabachthani!” You thought the Father would stop the crucifixion because his heart is love?
The fact that God is love does not mean he will compromise the law of sacrifice. Be careful of what you hear. Having accepted Christ as Lord and Savior does not mean you should go about harassing charms and pagan shrines in your carnality. There is a lot of powerlessness in the body of Christ. People have adamantly refused to grow; they remain lukewarm and yet deliberately engage in wars with demonic entities. They just get up with arbitrary grounds that cannot stand the test of time in the midst of the darkness and evil of this world.
Most of the altars that fight many families were initiated by sacrifice. By sacrifice here, I don’t mean money. Most churches have reduced sacrifice to money, and the moment you mention sacrifice, they think of offerings and tithes. No amount of money can ever replace sacrifice.
You must revert to God and say, “Lord, change my story and grant me mastery in the Kingdom, and remove any limitation on the way.”
The sacrifice of total complete surrender. Can you empty your Bank account for charity if God asks you to? Can you give up your house and cars if God demands it? These are the strings that stop you from moving forward.
The pilot will say, “The lighter a plane is, the easier and faster it can fly.” There are times, based on the size of an airplane, they would have to reduce the luggage so that it does not affect the flight.
F) Enduring with passion.
Hebrews 12:1
“Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”
There is endurance when it pertains to being a master and a giant. Look at the world champions in football, gymnastics, etc. They undergo constant routines of training to archive their metals. They work out steadily despite the previous winning medals hanging in their houses. They know that it is through consistent training to maintain the height they have attained.
Solicit the chefs what makes them so exceptional that one meal can be as much as one thousand dollars. But when it comes to the body of Christ, its movement becomes very casual. We believe that Jesus has done everything, and we can live as we want and still attain glory and heights. We throw away self-denial, fasting, and prayers and assume they are at work in our lives through Christ. That is why the church remains powerless.
And for many people, all they know about sacrifice is fasting and Bible study. There is something beyond prayer, fasting, and Bible study—that thing is you being the living sacrifice. You need to lay down the ability to say “No” in front of God. Accept his complete sovereignty over your life and declare, “Lord! I have lost the ability to say No. If you tell me to go left, I go. If you tell me to quit the ministry, there I go.” Render your obedience to God in his manner, and he will brand his hand upon your life in a way that will cause your world to marvel.
This teaching will leave you with two options: To continue doing Christianity the way you used to do it or to take God seriously and selflessly. Subscribe to this law and let nothing and no one be great in your life that will supersede God. If that is your prayer and you mean it with all your heart, you will count testimonies like the sand of the seashore. You will become the friend of God.
In this season, I discern very strongly that the giver of all good things is coming to his body again, and there will be strange distribution of grace and power. God is going to come to believers. Some people will be enthroned at higher levels. A thousand cubit is about to measure over many believers, and some will shift into deeper levels of power, influence, and wealth. Make sure you subscribe to what God intends to do by offering yourself a living sacrifice.
Cry to God of your salvation, “Lord! Purge my heart. Bring me the point of total surrender. Let nothing be too much to hand over to you. You gave me everything. Give me the grace to give you everything.”
Die to your ego, reputation especially. Ask God to take it out of you. Your passion for titles, positions, and names must be submerged for the spirit of God to arise in you. Desire the exaltation of His spirit within you. Enthrone Jesus beyond your career, business, family, and Joseph Selman.
I know you love your ministry, but exalt God above it. I know you love your business, but exalt God above it. Exalt him above your wife, husband, children, visions, and personality.
The one secret behind the strange lifting of men, the one secret of the kingdoms behind the mighty and marvelous hand of God over the life of a person, is total surrender. Surprisingly, you will see God at work in your life. He will give you the desire of nations because you have become his friend. He will open you to profound truths in the spirit and empower you with unusual dimensions and wisdom beyond the realm of men.
The Lord showed me things he intends to do in the body of Christ this season. He will distribute power and a greater level of grace. God will trust people with wealth you have never seen before. This will not be about business alone—I understand the principles of value. It is about God trusting people with underserving heights. Seeing that his last treasurer betrayed him, he seeks for “dead selves” to resurrect so that they can take that position. God will bring forth stewards and give them the equivalent of the wealth of nations.
There are levels of anointing that make a man walk like a god upon the earth. Their word will become like the word of God, and everyone will see the spectacular manifestation of God’s power through them. Then they will steer at him, and a deep revelation will cross your mind that this is a man backed by a strange alter with blood dripping on it.
Let us stop being storytellers in the body of Christ and begin to produce fruits of the spirit.
There is nothing in my life today that I, Joseph Selman, cannot give to God. Nothing I cannot drop at the altar of God. The worst that can happen to me in this life is death. And even in death, we have cheated it in victory.
Rededicated your life to God. Do not say, “I am a born again.” Start from afresh with God. It is better to start afresh than to keep running around in uncertainty and ignorance.
How some Christians lead their lives proves that they haven’t yet acknowledged the authority of Jesus over their lives. They are the master of their own will and do anything they like. He who strives for mastery must be temperate in all things.
The love of God constraints. Do not try to modernize Christianity. Thank God for Westernization and technology, but many of us have become victims of these things. There is an unusual loss of comfort, lawlessness, and liberty; there is no constraint. It is a social world, but if this loss of comfort persists, you will not do business with God.
I won’t insult your pedigree; the choice is yours. But if it is the God of heaven you seek, be ready to revert and say, “Lord! I am ready to subscribe to the constraints that bring mastery.” Even in the secular world, those who are champions are constrained.
Hebrews 12:2: “…Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame…”
Pray with me:
Lord! Grant me the grace to constraint my life for the sake of throne and crown that you have set before me.
Amen.
