How to Seek and Find God (Part II): Walking in the Glory
Many believers find themselves trapped in an exhausting cycle of crying out over their challenges, begging God to notice their pain, and wondering why heaven feels silent. But what if your greatest crisis is not actually the problem staring you in the face? What if the true root of your struggle is simply the absence of the glory? When we navigate life relying only on human effort, every obstacle feels like an insurmountable mountain. However, when we transition from merely asking for divine intervention to cultivating and walking in the divine glory, everything shifts. The very crisis meant to break you becomes the exact platform God uses to display His power.
1
Your Trouble Is Not the Problem; It Is the Absence of the Glory
Many Christians are going through pains and calling on God, “Father, please look at my trouble,” and God is not responding. Your trouble is not the problem; you have not found the glory. If you find the glory, then your trouble will become the reason for your manifestation, because you would have learned how to give commandments; because that thing you call a problem, you were designed to command it.
- Moving From Petition to Dominion: Scripture reveals a tragic distortion of order on earth: “I’ve seen an abomination upon the face of the earth: princes are walking while slaves are riding on horses”. The things that Christians should command are the things they are calling on God for, and the things that should change are the things currently frustrating them. When you walk in the glory, every crisis transforms into a potential testimony and an opportunity to reveal God.
- The Glories of the Marriage at Cana: The easiest way to reveal God is not merely to talk about Him; there are better ways of revealing Him. When Jesus wanted to reveal God in Canaan, He waited until the wine was completely gone, revealing God in a way that a fake person could never replicate. He instructed, “Fill the jars, and fill them to the brim”. When they filled them, He did not even pray, because in the glory, whatever you declare it to be, that is what it becomes. He commanded, “Fetch from the jar and take it to the feast”.
- Wine of the Spirit vs. Wine of the Flesh: When the governor of the feast tasted it, he expressed absolute shock: “What is wrong with you? Men usually take the best wine first, but you have kept the best wine until they are tired of drinking”. This occurred because natural wine is brewed from the earth, while this wine was brewed directly in the glory realm. When you drink the wine of the glory realm, you carry it beyond the ceremony, and it begins to transform you, causing you to walk in glory and speak in tongues. As Scripture reminds us, “Do not be drunk with wine, but be filled with the Holy Spirit”. The wine of the flesh is alcohol, but the wine of the glory is the Holy Ghost.
“If you find the glory, then your trouble will become the reason for your manifestation, because you would have learned how to give commandments; because that thing you call a problem, you were designed to command it.” ~Michael Orokpo
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Action Step
Audit Your Prayers: Notice how often your prayers center around begging for relief versus issuing faith-filled commands based on God’s Word.
Shift Your Perspective: When facing a sudden deficit or crisis, view it not as a tragedy, but as the exact canvas where God’s glory is about to be unveiled.
Cultivate Spiritual Intoxication: Instead of seeking worldly comforts to numb stress, lean into prolonged times of worship and prayer to be filled afresh with the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Sets an Example of How a Man’s Life on Earth Should Be
The life of Jesus is a revelation of who a man is, and not who a God is. That’s why, when He finished in John 14:12, He said, “Greater works than this shall ye do”. That means what He came to do is to teach us how to live. Go and look at the life of Jesus: there was never a time Jesus stood and said, “Father, please intervene”.
POINT A
Activating the Glory Over Intervention: Jesus knew how to activate the glory. When He came and nothing was working, He declared, “I thank you, O Father, because you hear me”. After that, instead of turning to the Father and pleading for help, He would speak directly to the dead: “Arise,” or “Come forth”. When men do not know the glory, they cannot live out the fullness of life. Jesus healed the sick, cast out devils, and performed miraculous works to teach us what we are called to do.
POINT B
Confronting Hades and Stripping Principalities: After completing His earthly ministry, Jesus decided to go to the cross, prompting Peter to rebuke Him. Jesus looked at Peter and laughed, saying, “Get behind me, Satan”. There is something far more spectacular than healing the sick: for Jesus to complete His mission, He needed to step out of His body and enter Hades to strip the devil of all authority.
POINT C
The Public Display of Victory: Colossians 2:14 states: “Having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a public show of them”. If Jesus had only healed the sick and ascended to heaven, the enemy could easily intimidate believers by whispering, “Do you think you are Jesus Christ?” Instead, He staged a public display of triumph to prove that the only entity on earth possessing God’s authority is His body—the man. The devil no longer carries God’s authority; authority is an inherent component of the glory handed back to humanity.
“When men don’t know the glory, they cannot live the fullness of life.” ~Michael Orokpo
Biblical Context
The Greek word used for “disarmed” or “spoiled” in Colossians 2:15 is ekdusamenos, meaning to strip off armor or authority completely. In the Roman context of a triumph, a victorious general paraded defeated captive rulers through the streets to demonstrate their utter subjugation. Christ’s descent into Hades and resurrection stripped Satan of legal dominion, transferring that administrative authority to the redeemed believer.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Action Step
Cease Begging for What Has Been Delegated: Stop pleading for power over habits, sickness, or oppression; instead, exercise the authority Christ purchased and handed over to you.
Speak Directly to Circumstances: Mirror Jesus by addressing mountains, sickness, and dead situations directly with spoken commands of faith rather than helpless complaints.
Stand Firm Against Intimidation: When the enemy tries to make you feel small or unqualified, remind yourself that principalities have already been publicly disarmed.

Restoration of the Glory and Dominion
Two things were lost in Eden. God said, “Let us make man in our image”—that was the glory. And God said, “Let them have dominion”—that was dominion. So, man lost both the glory and his dominion. Jesus came to restore the glory, but He also had to give you back your dominion. When Jesus resurrected, He declared, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given unto Me; you go in that power”.
- Our True Audience: When we go out and cast out devils, our first audience is not man; our first audience is Jesus. Elijah understood this spiritual reality when he declared in the Old Testament, “Before God, whom I stand…” Furthermore, our second audience consists of the spirits of just men made perfect. What Paul accomplished through Christ is expected of you as well, operating from the same spirit of faith outlined in 2 Corinthians 4:13: “According as it is written, ‘They believed and have spoken’; we, having the same spirit of faith, believe and therefore speak”.
POINT A
Your Defeat is a Choice of Ignorance: Jesus went to Hades, dealt with the adversary, and collected all power. At the resurrection, everything He possessed was handed over to us. Therefore, if you are defeated today, it is either a product of your own ignorance or a product of your cooperation with the devil, because Christ’s authority has already been entrusted to you to execute His will.
POINT B
Maturing Beyond Basic Needs: The greatest miracle is not just a single man standing up to raise the cripple. The greatest miracle occurs when the church matures and begins to express diverse dimensions of God. While we organize healing services to meet urgent human needs, a truly mature church operates with the glory so intensely that it is the outside world—not the church—that desperately needs miracle services. The measure you desire is the measure you will carry.
“The measure you desire is the measure you will carry. It is no longer a possibility that is with God; it is now a possibility that is with you.” ~Michael Orokpo
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Action Step
Reject Defeatist Mindsets: Stop blaming external circumstances or spiritual attacks for ongoing defeats; instead, evaluate where ignorance or compromise may have surrendered ground.
Align Your Speech with Faith: Practice declaring God’s Word over your family, finances, and health rather than speaking words of doubt or fear.
Aspire to Spiritual Maturity: Move past the stage of constantly needing others to fight your battles; press into God for a greater measure of glory so you can minister to a broken world.
4
Increase the Measure of the Glory of God Upon Your Life
Some of the things you ask in prayer for three days to get an answer, somebody else prays for in one minute. Your three-day prayer is merely a casual declaration on the lips of another man, because there are those who don’t even need elaborate declarations—the moment they think a thing, it manifests through the power of measures. Ecclesiastes 11:3 reminds us: “When the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves on the earth”.
- Locking the Door in the Face of Calamity: When calamity strikes, a maturing believer stops running around crying out for someone else to pray for them. Instead, they lock their door, recognizing that what dwells in Christ dwells inside them too—the only difference is the measure. You do not just want a temporary fix to a problem; you need your measure to increase so that the problem can never return.
- Moving Beyond Permanent Dependence: While we deeply honor those who carry great graces—such as Andrew Wommack, who famously refused to give in to grief when his son passed away, choosing instead to meditate on the Word for forty minutes until life returned—the goal of a true teaching ministry is not to make you permanently dependent on men. If you do not discover these spiritual secrets for yourself, you will remain a spiritual babe, eventually turning human vessels into your gods. Labor in the glory until different tributaries of healing, provision, and power open up from within your own spirit.
“I am happy when apostles pray for me, but I want to find out what he did. And so, when I hear that he could cry but meditate, then when I face challenges, I do not cry—I meditate as well, because if one can do it, then all can do it.” ~Michael Orokpo
Biblical Context
The Hebrew phrase for “secret place” is sater, denoting a covert, hiding place, or shelter of divine presence. In ancient temple architecture, this pointed directly to the Holy of Holies where the Shekinah glory rested above the mercy seat. Psalm 91 teaches that this intimate dwelling is no longer restricted behind a physical veil; through prayer and Christ’s finished work, it becomes the daily habitation of every believer.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION
Action Step
Establish a Private Altarlife: Set aside intentional, uninterrupted time to shut your door, get on your knees, and labor in prayer until the spiritual atmosphere around you shifts.
Study the Methods of Faith: When you see God move powerfully through someone else, do not just seek their prayers—study the spiritual disciplines, meditation habits, and consecration that produced their measure of glory.
Expand Your Spiritual Capacity: Refuse to settle for quick fixes to recurring life cycles; press into God for a greater weight of glory that permanently displaces lack, sickness, and fear.
Conclusion
Seeking and finding God is not about begging Him to notice your suffering; it is about discovering, cultivating, and walking in the glory that has already been made available through Christ Jesus. When you stop looking at your troubles as insurmountable blocks and start seeing them as opportunities to command your world through the Spirit, everything changes. True spiritual maturity means moving from a life of constant dependence on others to carrying a personal measure of God’s glory that transforms your home, your workplace, and your world.

PERSONAL REFLECTION QUESTION
What area of your life have you been treating as an impossible problem to beg God about, rather than a territory of the enemy designed for you to command through His glory?
“
✝ A Prayer to Strengthen Your Spirit
Heavenly Father, I thank You for restoring Your glory and dominion to my life through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Forgive me for the times I have looked at my trials with fear and ignorance, begging for intervention when You have already equipped me with Your authority. Lord, increase my spiritual measure. Help me to shut out the distractions, enter the secret place of prayer, and cultivate the Shekinah glory deep within my spirit. Teach me to walk in such profound dominion that every crisis becomes a testimony of Your goodness. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
