1) Desires of life and Unresponded godly promptings:
If you are to grow into the God-man, you must learn to attend to and tame the desires of life. Maybe for you, the moment life was activated within you, the desire to be alone with God emerged; the desire to study the Word arose; the desire to listen to the Word of God was awakened. Yet, you did not recognize that these desires were the channel for your transfiguration. Instead of responding to them, you suppressed them with seasonal movies, and with unimpactful conversations. When such desires persist for a time without response, they gradually become numb. You would discover that although you have received life, you are not witnessing the dimensions of that life manifesting through you.
Romans 7:18 “For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.”
2) Inability to Yield to the Spirit of Life
Every person who is born of God must learn to yield to life. Indeed, if you do not yield, you will attempt to use your will and human strength to accomplish God’s work, rather than responding to life and allowing that life to grow and saturate you; This inevitably leads to frustration.
This was Paul’s struggle: he sought to accomplish divine purposes through human power. He discovered that, despite his deep desire to do good, he repeatedly found himself doing the very things he did not want to do. Paul realized that there were forces at work within him. You can now understand why God requires the surrender of your life. Though he desired to do good, he found that evil was present with him.
4) Law of the members
Romans 7:22-23: “For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”
The Apostle spoke of two laws; the law of God which prompts a person to desire and pursue the will of God and the law of the members—which stands in opposition to and negates the law of the mind. Thus, one law urges toward the will of God, while another restrains.
The Human effort people attempt to use to produce God’s will is already energized by an opposing, evil law. No matter how hard one tries through mere human strength, it will ultimately fail. The law of the members is the law of sin. The conflict between the law of the mind—which is the desire to do the will of God—and the law of sin and death results in frustration, because the law of sin and death will always overpower the law of the mind.
Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”
When life comes into you, it also operates as a law. As a result, there are now three laws at work within you. First, there is the law of the mind, which represents your desire to serve God. Secondly, there is the law of sin and death, which is the power that opposes and restrains you from serving God. Third, there is the law introduced by Christ—the law of the Spirit of life.
The law of the Spirit of life counteracts the law of death. When the law of death is neutralized, the law of the mind is then able to function effectively. This is why you find people who desire to pray and actually pray, who desire to live holy and who indeed live holy—it is because they have yielded to the law of life. The law of life has overcome the law of sin and death, enabling them to act according to their godly desires. Life, therefore, is of vital importance because it becomes the foundation upon which all the dimensions of God are established within a person. Life is also the means by which humanity is delivered from death.
Romans 8:3: “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh”
5) Unaware to the fact that sin has been defeated
You may know all the commandments, but yet unable to obey them because the flesh renders them weak within you. What the flesh could not accomplish, God accomplished by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh; on account of sin, He condemned sin in the flesh. Jesus, therefore, was the only one capable of destroying that law. When He imparted His life into you, something was awakened within—the righteous requirements of the law could now be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
6) The love of the world
The way to activate life is to cooperate with it. If you do not walk according to the dictates of life, that life will not operate powerfully within you. Even demons understand this principle? This is why the things they continually present to you are designed to turn your affection away from God. Many do not understand why the Scripture says, “Do not love the world or the things in the world; for if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” This is an area where many Christians are weak.
If you desire the awakening of the power of life, you must learn to discipline and rightly orient your mind. When you speak to some believers about this, they often respond by saying, “It is not a sin.” They argue that it is not a sin to watch ungodly movies or scroll endlessly on social media. While it may not be labeled as sin, it gradually redirects the heart’s affection away from God. This is why, for some of us, when you pick up our phones, a Christian message is playing, a worship song is playing, or videos of God’s works and miracles are playing. When it is not that, we are studying principles that empower people and produce impact. At times, I listen to gospel messages and when I am saturated; then I may switch to learning principles of growth, excellence, and value creation. Anything that adds value is what I allow into my hearing.
Scripture instructs us, “Whatever things are pure, whatever things are of good report, whatever things are holy and peaceful—set your mind on these things.” I am not saying one should listen only to preaching; that is not the point. Rather, anything that does not add value should not occupy your mind, because where your mind dwells, you will eventually become.
7) Reorientation of your mind towards secular world
Unfortunately, when you carry the phones of a believer, you would realize all the songs are secular. The secular guy is talking nonsense, and the Christians are feeding their minds with it. When you ask them, they say, “Is it not a sin? I’m just listening to a song.” It’s not a sin, but it is reorienting you. This is the reason why sin will dominate you. The devil is smart. He knows that if he brings fornication directly, you will run. So, he creates something that turns your mind from God, such that even when fornication does not come to you, you will go and create it; you will go and look for it. That’s what the devil does, because he knows that the power is in the orientation of the mind. If your mind is oriented, what you see and what you hear becomes who you are.
If you want to discover who you truly are, start by checking your menu—what you see and what you hear reflects who you are. You cannot define yourself outside of this reality. This is exactly what the Apostle Paul taught. He said that when a person’s mind is oriented toward God and toward things of virtue, the power of life is naturally activated. Suddenly, you find yourself doing godly things, and you won’t even know where the wisdom comes from—you just instinctively know how to handle difficult situations. You begin to wonder, “What is happening?” It is the life within you being activated. You will act with authority, and yet you may not realize where it comes from. Things simply happen as you speak, and change occurs. Often, you won’t even notice when you reached that level of authority, because it has been built into the life that God placed within you.
If you give life room, those things will manifest, because life is the bedrock upon which the installation of divinity rests. In the UK, for example, you have many kinds of churches—even the Church of Satan. But the truth is, the devil does not even need a Church of Satan to dominate the world. If he has a cinema where nakedness is constantly displayed, that is more powerful than a Church of Satan. As you look at it, you are worshiping through your mind, and it has the capacity to enslave an entire generation. Why do you think bad news is always trending? The devil needs your mind to feed on these things so that he can keep you in bondage.
8) Hindrances to the awakening of life
The first dimension of awakening for those who are born of God is an awakening into life. The moment life comes into you; you will see that it has demands; life begins to draw you. If you want the powers of life to manifest in your life, you must respond to these demands promptly. For some, the demand will be isolation with God; for others, fasting; and for others still, study—you may find yourself with an appetite to sit down and read an entire book. This is life being fed within you. For some, it is prayer; for others, it is sitting among godly people and listening to the things of God. These are the demands of life when it is activated within you.
If you are wise, you will respond quickly, or else the desire may fade. The more you hear and respond to these demands, the more powerful you become, and the more you grow in the Spirit. When life is awakened, you will notice that anything associated with death, the moment you show up, is dismantled and restored to life. A level of power is built within you so that even your touch can bring transference to others.
Somebody tells you they have pains, and you simply place your hand on them. You may not even feel anything—it is not about emotion—but something will surge from you that terminates the pain. When the person is surprised, you are surprised too, yet life has gone to work. Somebody tells you they have a tumor, and you say, “No, you cannot have a tumor.” That statement may sound casual or even careless, but an hour later, the person comes to you and says, “It’s gone.” You have emitted life, because anything that flows from you allows life to flow. Your words, your thoughts—everything communicates life. The question is: to what degree are we cooperating with life?
9) Neglecting of things that affect spirit life
The problem with us is that we practice things that only affect the body life, but we neglect the things that affect the spirit life. Any dimension that is awakened in you through life creates a schedule around it. For example, you may discover that in the evenings, you receive songs or hear impressions that don’t make sense at the moment—but two days later, they happen. You might be driving in the evening and sense that someone who did not have a child is now pregnant, and a week later, you hear that the person is indeed pregnant. You will remember, “This happened to me a few days ago while I was driving.” Another time, you may just know in your spirit that someone had an accident—and two weeks later, you hear that it happened.
If you are wise, you will sit down and reflect on these moments, asking, “When am I picking up these signals?” You will notice it often happens in the evenings. Once you recognize this, you can take deliberate steps: leave everyone else and be alone during that time. This is when life opens up within you. As you spend time alone, a point will come when you begin to observe events: the positive ones you will energize and prophesy over, while the negative ones you will stop. You will start to function like a God-man. That is when the things you do not permit cannot happen, and only the things you allow will come to pass.
This is what every Christian must learn to master. Many of us are so careless that even matters in our own families go unaddressed, and then we wonder, “Why? What is going on? Why are bad things happening?” Things go wrong because you are not growing. The day you begin to grow by cooperating with life, those things will begin to stop happening. This is not just the heritage of apostles and prophets—it is the heritage of every believer in whom eternal life has been installed. The Bible says that whoever has the Son has life. It also says, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.” So, the question is not whether we have life or not; the question is, to what degree are we cooperating with it?
You may notice that every time you pray to a certain level, your stomach starts vibrating. You may try to stop it, but you cannot. Every time this happens, and you go out, whatever you speak comes to pass. If you recognize this pattern, then every day, the moment you wake up, you should pray until that vibration begins—not for the vibration itself, but because it is an indicator that you have reached a threshold of life. It is God giving you signs of ascension. So, if you are living among people who oppose you or walking through difficult situations, your focus should not be on complaining—it should be on cultivating vibration. That is where life manifests. You go to your room, lock the door, and pray until there are movements. When the movements come, you step out. When negative things happen, you can speak with audacity: “In the name of Jesus, I change it.” People may look at you and ask, “Who do you think you are?” It’s not about who you think you are—it’s about where you have entered: the threshold of life. In the corridor of life, when we speak, things happen. This is the wisdom of the just. The Bible says we are a wonder to our generation. The reason we are not manifesting as wonders is that we are not maximizing what we have in God. You have life within you, and that life operates according to a protocol. If you do not follow those protocols, you cannot live in victory.
10) Ignorance of the revelation of the truth
2Timothy 1:10 “but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus,
who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
These are realities that existed before we were born. How did He abolish death? By giving life. So, the gospel does not only affect life; the gospel also impacts immortality. Christianity is the only space where many believers are not taught these truths. A witch of ten years can teleport, and it is not considered a miracle or a big deal, because from the time of their indoctrination and initiation, those things were taught as their way of life. We, as Christians, come to church in cars, and some even feel important because of the cars they drive. But if witches gather for a meeting, anyone who arrives in a car cannot enter. They all teleport into the meeting. Everyone appears on their seat through the wind, and no one is shocked when another suddenly appears.
Yet, if a pastor were to appear on the altar in church, trust me—ninety-nine percent of the congregation would run. We would rush out of the hall saying, “This man is a witch.” We have fallen so far that any supernatural dimension we encounter, we immediately label as witchcraft and attribute it to Satan. Is that not pathetic? If anyone does anything supernatural, we say, “No, no, no—that is a witch.” Subconsciously and subliminally, we believe that witches are the ones who have power, the ones who demonstrate the supernatural. Meanwhile, we have become comfortable with religion and rituals. As long as it is ritualistic and religious, we feel safe. The moment it becomes supernatural, we run away. Yes, we must be discerning, but if you are natural and think everything must remain natural, you are fallen.
If I were to appear on the altar in church, it would become national news. It would be everywhere in the media. Theologians would sit down to debate it—some arguing for it, others arguing against it—and the discussion would last until the end of the year. Why? Because we do not know what we have, and we do not know who we are. How can a doctor struggle helplessly in a hospital when drugs are no longer working? At that point, speak a word. When drugs fail, a word spoken from life can restore the patient.
How can an engineer be confused when the laws of physics fail? Bring in the laws of the supernatural. How can a businessman fail when the principles of economics don’t work? Enter into your realm and download wisdom. Even the world was created by the wisdom of God—so, how can your small business fail? We do not know what we have. And this is the unfortunate reality: when we talk about Christianity, it is often only about people and buildings. We build cathedrals. There is nothing wrong with having a cathedral for people to come and worship. But if our glory lies in aesthetics and structures, then we have fallen.
Pastor Christ was teaching us some years ago and said that a generation is coming in which people will begin to live beyond the power of death. The reason we die is not that we lack immortality; the reason we die is that we learn about immortality too late. The consciousness of death becomes too strong within us, so that even when we receive the gospel and meditate on it, we cannot reach a level of consciousness of immortality strong enough to overcome the awareness of death. That is why people continue to die.
A new generation is coming that will learn the ways of God as children do—naturally, easily, and as they grow. If we start teaching them about God at that level, you will be amazed to see them manifest things that even global apostles do not manifest at the peak of their ministry; your children will demonstrate these things as children. The gospel brings life and immortality to light. Every person who is born of God is introduced to a journey of immortality. Just as we are brought into the journey of life to awaken to the manifestation of God, we are also brought into a journey of moving from a fleshly mindset to a spiritual mindset—until immortality becomes a living reality within us.
11) Lack of spiritual authority
1 Corinthian 2:12-14 “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
This is the heritage of the saints in the light—we are meant to manifest immortality. It is not automatic; it is a journey. Sometimes I meditate on these things and say, “Lord, help Your church to come into this truth.” You see Christians lining up for direction, lining up for deliverance, lining up for healing. We thank God for these miracles and healings. But honestly, if you are a spiritual person, it will break your heart. People who should have authority over demons are so helpless that they have to wait in line, relying on one person out of millions. That means, when you find ten million believers, only one has truly understood.
Does this not give you an idea of how ignorant we are? Imagine if you were the only engineer in a faculty. They say a car tire has a problem—they look for you. The engine plug has a problem—they look for you. Would that make you happy? No—it would be a shame. Yet this is the state of spirituality in the Church. All the sick line up to one person. All the people needing deliverance line up to one person.
The secular world understands education better. When they train people, they teach everyone the basics. After a few years, they churn out hundreds of engineers who can all build, operate, and maintain machines in their field. Yet in the Church, some have been around for ten years, and still only one person casts out demons, prays for the sick, or prophesies—and we celebrate that. Does this not suggest something is wrong with our “syllabus”? If people go to secular institutions and in four years become chemists, physicists, engineers, or doctors, why is it that believers go to the school of the Spirit and not become spiritual graduates after many years? Something is wrong. How can you be in Church for five years and still be waiting for a miracle?
In five years’ time you should be able to do what the pastor is doing. If you are looking for a miracle that’s no longer a testimony. Something is wrong with the doctrine and with the philosophy. So, we celebrate what we should abhor. Jesus has brought life and immortality through the gospel. The question is, how do you journey into immortality?
